Attendance
At Ravensdale, we believe that:
- Children who attend school every day make better progress and have better life chances
- Pupils need to attend school every day so that they can take full advantage of the great educational opportunities available here
- Poor attendance or being late all the time undermine that valuable educational process and can lead to educational disadvantage for children
Our school provides a welcoming, caring environment, where each member of the school family and community is able to be the best they can be.
All school staff work with and support pupils and their families, aiming to ensure everyone attends school regularly and punctually. We also have a focused attendance and punctuality leader, Miss Tracy Murray, who works closely with pupils and families who may need more support. Along with the Headteacher, Deputy Head and our Admin team, Miss Murray delivers an efficient system of communication with pupils, parents and appropriate agencies (including the Local Authority) to provide key information, helpful advice and effective support.
Our school acknowledges the extra efforts of pupils and families to improve attendance and timekeeping when there has been a problem.
We will always challenge the behaviour of those pupils and parents who give low priority to attendance and punctuality.
