We are always pleased to arrange appointments for school tours that enable families to look around Ravensdale if you are considering sending your child to school with us.

Admissions for Reception and Secondary school 2025

Nursery Admissions

Ravensdale has a wonderful nursery provision that caters for children that are aged 3 and 4.

We offer a 52 place nursery comprising of 24 places utilising 30 hour funding, with an additional 14 places for AM only and 14 places for PM only.

Our nursery times are 8.45am - 11.45am and 12.15pm - 3.15pm. 

In England, each child is entitled to 15 hours free government funding per week (during term time) for the academic year prior to starting school. Children need to be 3 years old by 31st August to qualify for a Nursery in that school year.

Details of our school's admissions criteria are available from the school office. 

The Ravensdale nursery follow the 'Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum'. 

If you have a child who will be 3 years old by 31st August 2023, please phone the school or pop into the school office to collect an application pack. Please apply for a place by 31st March 2023. 

Our information packs contain a covering letter, a copy of our admissions policy and an application pack that must be completed.

 Admission to our Reception Classes:

The School Standards and Framework Act 1998 requires all infant (Yr R, 1 and 2) class sizes to be limited to a maximum number of 30. For this reason, the school’s admission number for Reception is 60.

Decisions regarding admittance to our Reception classes each September are made by Coventry City Council.

 Admission to Other Year Groups

Moving children from one school to another is discouraged by Coventry City Council unless you have moved house. 

If you need to request a school transfer, please contact the Admissions team on 02476 975445. 

You will also need to complete an online transfer request form which can be found here - In- Year Admissions

We are happy to arrange visits for families who have been allocated a place at Ravensdale Primary School – please contact the school office to arrange this.

 Schools Appeals
